Chitwan National Park
Chitwan National Park which is one of the first national park of Nepal lies in Central Terai of Nepal . It covers districts like Nawalpur, Parasi, Chitwan and Makwanpur. This Park covers an area of 952.63 km square. This Park is also listed on the world Heritage site.
Animals and Birds Found in Chitwan National park
Different types of animals and birds are found in Chitwan National Park. Bengal Tiger, Indian leopards , Sloth bears, Bengal foxes, striped hyenas, wild dogs , golden jackals and many other animals are found in the park. In the same way white throated Kingfisher , Paradise flycatcher, Bengal florican , Swamp francolin and many other birds are found in the park. There are many other species like butterfly, crocodile , lizards, etc found in the park.
Vegetation of Chitwan National Park
There are tropical and sub tropical forests present in the Chitwan Valley. Sal forests cover about 70% of the park. The leaves of Sal are used to make plates which are used in festivals and religious practices. There are different types of grasses. Elephant grass is one of them which grows up to 8 m in height.
